LOUIS VUITTON

To promote an architectural conference and exhibition at the Tokyo International Forum, a unique form combining a pavilion, performance space and sculpture was developed. The project, sponsored by Louis Vuitton, uses an arrangement of 56 aluminium strands, protruding vertically from a sloping platform. The strands, curled over by pressurised bending, are tied down from their tips at different lengths, determining a deflected and deformed geometry. The result is the illusion of the structure appearing very flexible, when in fact it is rigid, reflecting the trees in the plaza.
