Held at the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, the exhibition Forum 64 featured the work H_Edge as well as six bespoke designed light boxes illustrating key principles crucial to Balmond’s creative process. These works were chosen for their strength in furthering the core mission of the museum – to support the advancement of art and science. Raymund Ryan, architecture curator at the museum explains: ‘Balmond achieves the remarkable feat of designing structures that avail themselves of contemporary technology and thinking yet are also inspired by patterns found in nature and in ancient cultures from around the globe.’
