Our Colombo office became a hive for emergent form making and parametric thinking as we welcomed students and faculty from the University of Pennsylvania School of Design. This latest chapter marks another phase of our international agenda to explore and push design learning and research. Being a member of associated faculty, Cecil was present to conduct sessions with the students, including a study that probed the application of emergent processes to design masterplan concepts for the Colombo Port City.

The visit concluded with a forum on Machine Learning & Design headed by professor Ezio Blasseti. Under it’s Global Initiative program PennDesign makes a concentrated effort to engage all around the world on the design front. We are thrilled to play a pioneering role in this kind of enterprise in the region and look forward to pushing the agenda on every platform we can.
