PEARL TAICHUNG

Situated within a cluster of towers and a public piazza, Taichung Pearl Convention Centre was conceived with the purpose of transforming this urban space into an Icon. Taking inspiration from the Klein bottle, the Pearl is sleek and aerodynamic in form, yet conceals an interior network of functional spaces and performance venues. The complex geometry of the structure is disguised by an appearance of effortless flowing and transpiring.

Pearl’s surface is opalescent, reflecting and moving with the ever-changing daylight. A louvered skin not only allows natural daylight to flood the interior, but also transforms the structure into a shimmering exoskeleton.

Sustainability underpins the entire design. Pearl is a green LEED platinum design icon and the first low carbon commercial landmark development in all of Taiwan.
