CONVERSATIONS IN TIME

What is the purpose or role of art in an age of accelerating social change and environmental uncertainty? This question is at the heart of Suzi Gablik’s book Conversations Before the End of Time, from 1995. Cecil Balmond revisits this integral question, more than 20 years later, in conversation with Professor Tom Nielsen of Aarhus School of Architecture.

Conversations In Time is a a modern day reincarnation of Gablik’s original book that introduces new creative voices to the dialog. Balmond and Nielsen consider the issue from their own individual and collective perspectives in this first edition. The discussion naturally involves the evolving idea of architecture and it’s role in varying environments and circumstances.

Cast Iron Radio brings Conversations In Time to the world as part of Aarhus 2017 - European Capital of Culture programme. Let’s get talking.
